[Johannesburg, South Africa, 08 November 2022]:

The .ZA Domain Name Authority (ZADNA) calls for small businesses and individuals to register for a four-day introductory domain name systems (DNS) technical training taking place in Johannesburg on 5 December 2022 at COZA House, Midrand,

The training is presented by ZADNA, in collaboration with the ZA Registry Consortium (ZARC), to ensure skills transfer and capacity building in the local Internet service providers community.
According to ZADNA, the training course is free, and applicants will pay a nominal refundable reservation fee of R 2000.00, which will be refunded upon attendance. The training requires fundamental knowledge of the Internet and TCP/IP including experience with a Unix/Linux.

“This training is one of many to come through which we aim to provide the requisite technical skills to the .za namespace and to ensure that our ISPs continue to be a vibrant and secure namespace, more so, empowering emerging ISPs with much-needed skills and lowering this barrier of entry,” says Molehe Wesi, CEO of ZADNA.

Two industry experts, Mr Johan Stenstam and Mr Mark Elkins, will conduct the course. Stenstam holds a degree in Engineering Physics from the Royal Institute of Technology in Stockholm with more than 25 years of experience with DNS on all levels. He is also the Internet Engineering Task Force DNS Directorate Reviewer.
Elkins is a certified CCIE (Cisco Engineer) and co-founder of Domain Name Services (PYT) Ltd. Elkins is also involved in the DNSSEC management of the local ccTLD’s domains, such as .za and of the gTLDs that are run locally.
