Extension of ADR Regulations to apply to Org.za, Net.za, and Web.za

The .ZA Domain Name Authority (ZADNA) is pleased to announce that the Minister of Telecommunications and Postal Services (the Honourable Dr. Siyabonga Cwele) has gazetted the amendment of the .ZA Alternative Dispute Resolution (ADR) Regulations, which extends the application of the Regulations to domain name disputes in Net.za, Org.za and Web.za. Since their initial promulgation in 2007, the Regulations only applied to Co.za domain name disputes.

The ADR Regulations are based on section 69 of the Electronic Communications and Transactions (ECT) Act, and were first promulgated by then Minister of Communications in 2007. To date around 200 Co.za domain name disputes have been resulted through the ADR process.
