12 May, 2009: .za DNA removes inactive domains new
Following a public consultation process in February to March 2009, .za DNA
hereby announces that it has removed a number of inactive .za domains from

6 February, 2009: Public notice: deletion of certain dormant .za domains. new

9 December, 2008: .za DNA holds a successful 2008 AGM. new
.za DNA members held a successful 2008 AGM on 21 November. The AGM adopted the 2007/8 audited financial statement and approved the proposed amendments to .za DNA's Memo & Articles of Association. You can read the minutes here.

1 July, 2008: Update: Revised amendments to the .za DNA Memo & Articles.
The special general meeting of the .za DNA members held on 18 June 2008 succeeded in making key resolutions regarding the proposed amendments to the Memorandum and Articles of Association of .za DNA. The proposed amendments have now been revised to include the resolutions of 18 June 2008 and can be found here. After some clarity is obtained from the .za DNA lawyer regarding some few issues highlighted in the document, a final version of the amendments will be tabled to the members for adoption.

17 June, 2008: Amendments to the .za DNA Memo & Articles.
For ease of reference at the special general meeting of 18 June 2008, the proposed amendments to the .za DNA Memo & Articles of Association have been revised based on the submissions received, and they include recommendations on way forward. The revised document is available here. The recommendations will be considered at the special general meeting.

23 May, 2008: Special general meeting of .za DNA members.
All .za DNA members are invited to attend a special general meeting to approve the proposed amendments to the .za DNA Memorandum and Articles of Association.
The meeting is scheduled to take place as follows:

The draft agenda can be found here. The November 2007 AGM agreed that members should be given an extended opportunity to provide comments to the proposed amendments until earlier this year. The submissions received from UniForum and Mike Lawrie can be found here
Members interested in attending are requested to confirm attendance by sending an email to gm@zadna.org.za no later than Friday, 13 June 2008. Remote participation will be arranged for members who want to participate away from the venue. A proxy form can be downloaded here for those interested in sending proxies. The forms can also be emailed by 13 June or be brought to the meeting.

14 December, 2007: Call for Comment regarding proposed amendments to the .za DNA memo & articles of association
The 2007 AGM of .za DNA members (held on 20 November 2007) decided that the proposed amendments to the current memorandum and articles of association should be posted to .za DNA website to allow .za DNA members to submit comments before the amendments could be approved by the Minister of Communications. The deadline for this is 31 January 2007. To read the amendments, please click here. A discussion list (discuss@zadna.org.za) has been created for the members to post their comments and/or questions. Non-members interested in providing comment/input should first register for .za DNA membership by submitting the membership form available here. Only SA citizens can become .za DNA members.

AGM 2007 a success
The fourth AGM of .za DNA held on 20 November in Midrand, Gauteng, was a success in updating the members about .za DNA's activities in the past financial year. The draft minutes are available here and are subject to the comments that may be received from attendees.

17 September, 2007: New .za DNA Board.

The .za Domain Name Authority has organised a workshop to launch the public consultation process for the .za domain policy & procedures. The workshop is scheduled for Tuesday, 14 August 2007 (10h00 - 14h00) at Balalaika Hotel, Maude Street, Sandton (tel: 011-322-5000). Seats for the event are limited. People interested in attending should confirm their attendance by faxing the attendance form (here) to 011-23405022 or 086 688 7109 no later than 8 August. Alternatively you can simply send an email to gm@zadna.org.za with a subject ".za policy launch - I will attend", and supply your full name & contact details. The .za domain policy and procedures will be posted to the website a day before the event."

17 June, 2007: .za DNA to hold ADR workshop with WIPO & SAIIPL

.za DNA, in association with SAIIPL and UniForum (co.za administrator) will hold a .za ADR workshop on 3-4 September 2007 in Sandton. The first day will be presentations by WIPO (World Intellectual Property Organisation) about international best practices in domain name ADR processes. The second day will be presentations by Nominet (.uk administrators). The workshop is primarily open to accredited .za ADR adjudicators, but limited seats are available for the public.
