Proposed amendments to .za DNA memo & articles

.za DNA has recently completed discussions with the Department of Communications about amendments proposed to its current memo and articles of association. The amendments are intended amongst other things to more clearly define .za DNA powers and align them to the provisions of the Chapter X of the ECT Act. The final document has recently been submitted to the Minister of Communications for her approval, as per the Act. • There has been a moratorium on changes to second level registrations in .za while the process of establishing and handing over to the .ZA DNA is taking place. The Board of the .ZA DNA has taken a decision to remain with the current structure but will be conducting a policy review with public input in due course. Until then, if there is a proposal for a second level domain that meets the criteria described in the Namespace policy (largely incorporated into the Articles of Association of the .ZA DNA), use that document for guidance on the process which is likely to apply when the moratorium ends. If the need is REALLY urgent, it will be considered, and "considered" does not automatically mean "acceded to".
