South African citizens may become a member of .za DNA. There is no cost to becoming a member. Interested people may apply for membership using the membership application form Applicants must provide full details in the application form if they are to be accepted as members.

Who is entitled to become a member?

All citizens and permanent residents of the RSA are eligible for membership.

What are the costs of membership?

Whilst membership of the Authority is currently free of charge, the Authority reserves the right to charge a nominal membership fee to cover the administrative costs of membership. Members will be given sufficient notice of any intention to change membership fees.

What is the period of membership?

Your membership will continue indefinitely. However, in order to maintain an active membership body at all times (important for establishing a quorum in general meetings) the Authority may discontinue the membership of a particular member in the following circumstances only:

  • In the event that the member fails on two separate occasions to respond to a request by the Authority to confirm his/her continued membership which request is conveyed to the member by the Authority addressing the request to all the contact numbers/addresses provided by the member.

The fact that membership is terminated by the Authority in this manner does not in anyway prevent that person from reapplying for membership at anytime thereafter.

How do I become a member?

There are a number of ways in which you can become a member:

(i) By completing the membership application form below and submitting it to the Authority. When the receipt of your application form is confirmed you will be deemed to be a member.

(ii) By sending the Authority a facsimile at fax number +27 11 314 0088 or 086 688 7109 (SA only). The faxed application must have your full name, ID number and as many contact details as possible eg. e-mail address, fax number, tel. number, cell number and physical address.

You will become a member of the Authority when you receive confirmation of subscription of your name into the members’ database.

(iii) By telephoning the Authority and providing them with the contact details as set out in (ii) above. You will become a member of the Authority when you receive confirmation of subscription of your name into the members’ database.

(iv) By sending the Authority an e-mail to questions at zadna.org.za in which you indicate your intention to become a member and provide the Authority with your full name, ID Number and as many contact details as possible eg. e-mail address, fax number, tel. number, cell number and physical address. You will become a member of the Authority when you receive confirmation of subscription of your name into the members’ database.

It is the member’s duty to ensure that he/she updates his/her contact details with the Authority as the Authority cannot accept any responsibility for failure to deliver documentation and information to a member in the event of changed / incorrect contact details.
